Dr. Stegmann McCallion is a Reader in Political Science at Karlstad University (Sweden). Her research has an EU focus, with a specific interest in multi-level governance, Europeanisation processes, paradiplomacy, how the sub-national level engages with the EU institutions, differentiated integration in Europe, and awkward states/awkwardness in European integration.
Dr. Stegmann McCallion is engaged in various networks that provide an international context to her work such as DigiTeRRI and in a long-term collaboration with the Assembly of European Regions, AER. She utilises and includes the outreach part of her work in both her teaching and research and vice versa.
