René von Schomberg is a science and technology studies specialist and philosopher. He is the author/co-editor of 15 books. He holds PhDs from the University of Twente (the Netherlands) in Science and Technology Studies and J.W.Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) in Philosophy. He was a European Union Fellow at George Mason University (USA) in 2007 and has been with the European Commission from 1998 to 2021. He is also a Guest Professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany).
